Summary

Jacin watches over a sleeping Winter, distraught from the nights of the battle and so overcome with grief that she has sedated and restrained.

Too many years of neglecting her gift has left her vulnerable and the overuse strained her already fragile mind.

As Jacin reflects on the revelations revealed after the battle, he allows himself to admit his true feelings for Winter. When he is finally ready to open up and bare his soul to hers, the girl of ice and snow returns.
