As Cinder and Thorne flee the city of Rieux and its attackers, Iko reveals they aren't the only ones under attack, and Cinder must leave behind a part of her past and her heart. 

While listening to the howls in the basement, Scarlet is shocked to also hear the cries of a familiar voice.  But after finally being reunited with her beloved Grandmere, Scarlet is surprised by what Grandmere is asking of her.  While she struggles to find a way to safely escape with her Grandmere, Scarlet may have more trouble waiting for her in the night.
