72. Cress Chapters 17 & 18 (The Lunar Chronicles)

This week Bethanie is joined by fellow librarian and Patreon member Becca. We finally get to see what happened to Scarlet after she was captured by Thaumaturge Sybil. But as happy as we are to get an insight into her circumstances, she is far from safe, and we are left feeling sad and scared for her unknown future.

After a tearful ending to Scarlet's chapter, we join Cress and Thorne, still wandering the desert. Though they have found ways to improve their traveling, they are still having a rough go of it. Cress tells Thorne, and the readers, about her childhood and how she came to be a secret protector of Earth. And though Cress says Thorne would be just as brave and selfless if he had been in her position, Thorne is not convinced.
