As Cress awakens from two days of rest, she is feeling much better and ready to join the rest of the camp. Cress is convinced she alone knows the real Carswell Thorne, and he tries to let her down gently.  He is quick to correct her research on his heroics, but she tries to find his chivalry in every situation. 

After traveling in the hot sun, they arrive in a small town.  In the hotel room, Cress and Thorne finally can rest and clean up.  But while Cress is getting comfy, Thorne has other plans.
